RelayPDF uses a prepaid wallet. New accounts start with $5 trial credit. Successful jobs debit wallet cents. Failed jobs are unbilled. Auto-reload can top up your wallet when balance is low.

Do I need to run Chromium or LibreOffice myself?

Accepted Answer

No for public RelayPDF usage. Chromium-backed PDF/image rendering and document-worker conversion are managed behind the API.

Can I convert Office files?

Yes. Use POST /v1/convert with file + sourceFilename and to=pdf (or other supported targets such as docx/xlsx/html/png).

What if a request fails?

Failed operations are not billed. Error responses return a stable code and message. Rate-limited requests are also unbilled.

Is RelayPDF agent-friendly?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use relaypdf setup/login for local CLI and stdio MCP. Remote hosts call POST https://api.relaypdf.com/mcp with a bearer key stored in the host config — do not paste keys into prompts. n8n uses the official n8n-nodes-relaypdf community node.
